According to this theory P is a true proposition, if and only if, P is useful in practice. This theory creates an Independent and different attitude in religious study. In this religious study, instead of studying of correspondence or non correspondence of religious teachings to the reality, practical works and objective results of these teachings have evaluating. Truth of religious teachings is depending on their practical outcomes and objective results. This approach is be criticized; because It is incompatible with teachings of revealed religions. Numerous criticisms of this approach are: cognitive relativism, humanism and removing the theism, forgetting "the reality of God" and setting "the concept of God" instead of it, lake of attention to revealed essence of religions, reductionism and reducing the religions to their practical and objective results, propagating a utilitarian and Instrumentalist attitude about religions, lake of attention to death and resurrection, disability to understanding of essence of religion… نظریۀ عمل‌گرای صدق، از جمله نظریه‌های مهم در بابِ مفهوم صدق است. بر اساس این نظریه، «گزارۀ P صادق است، اگر و تنها اگر، گزارۀ P در عمل سودمند باشد». اخذ این نظریه در مطالعۀ دینی، فضای فکری مستقل و متفاوتی را در گستره‌های گوناگونِ دین‌پژوهی پدید می‌آورد. در این نوع دین‌پژوهی، به‌جای بررسی مطابقت یا عدمِ مطابقتِ تعالیم و گزاره‌های دینی با واقعیت، آثار محسوس و نتایج عملی آنها سنجش و ارزیابی می‌شود. حقانیتِ آموزه‌ها و گزاره‌های دینی را نه مطابقتِ آنها با واقعیت، که نتایجِ عملی و پیامدهای عینی آنها تعیین می‌کند. این رهیافت، علاوه بر اشکال‌های معرفت‌شناختی، با فضای فکریِ حاکم بر ادیان آسمانی ناسازگار و متعارض است و انتقادهای متعددی به آن وارد شده است: نسبیت‌گرایی معرفتی، انسان‌مَداری و حذف خدامحوری، به فراموشی‌ سپردنِ «واقعیت خدا» و نشاندنِ «تصور خدا» به جای آن، بی‌توجهی به پیام‌وارگیِ ادیان آسمانی، تحویلی‌نگری در بابِ دین و تقلیل آن به آثار و نتایج عملی، ترویجِ نگرشِ سودانگارانه و ابزارپندارانه به دین، عدمِ توجه به مرگ‌آگاهی و آخرت‌اندیشیِ ادیان آسمانی، ناتوانی در فهمِ حقیقتِ خالصِ دین و... https://jpht.ut.ac.ir/article_52845_515c1589318cfa76c917cfc03d67e9a3.pdf
