Abstract
The concept of “human superiority” remains a fundamental subject in religious discourse, particularly amidst contemporary scientific and technological advancements. While Transhumanism emphasizes biological enhancement and Posthumanism rejects any ontological hierarchy, Islamic thought maintains human superiority, grounded in the criterion of taqwa (piety). This research employs an analytical-deductive method to critique Posthumanism—specifically the interpretation of Francesca Ferrando—through the lens of Ayatollah Javadi Amoli’s Quranic anthropology. The findings demonstrate that the underlying anthropological paradigm dictates the hierarchy of beings. By utilizing concepts such as the “unity of identity” and the “primacy of human transcendence over conditional change,” this study argues that the recognition of human superiority and the criterion of taqwa constitute rational necessities rooted in the inherent dignity of the human essence, rather than mere outcomes of technological evolution.
