Abstract

Is the language of religion the same as the common language? Various doctrines have been presented. Meanwhile، Wittgenstein offered two different doctrines in two different time periods. During the first period، he accepts the theory of common and visual language. But during the second period، he criticized his previous doctrine and offered the doctrine of “Language Games”، which means language has different functions and roles. In this paper، the writer explains this doctrine and its position on religious language topics and concludes that no matter how different are the functions، but they’re not heterogeneous، and the function of realism is the common function of language in all cases. And this common function makes a philosopher، poet، artist، scientist، and… to talk to each other in a meaningful way.
